Is anyone familiar with the area around W Harmont Dr. in Peoria (southeast) It is very close to Luke Air Force Base and west of MaryVale near Northern Ave. but is it really very noisy - is it safe? (Others have said Maryvale has gangs). There are some nice houses for sale in the neighborhood. Thanks

Even the far southern sections of Peoria is no where near the higher crime parts of Maryvale. That really is a non issue you won't have trouble with violent gangs or anything. Anyway that area is fairly safe for the most part. It's not far at all far from Westgate and the Cardinal's stadium and there's quite a bit of construction going on around there. By noisy do you mean planes flying above your head all day? If that's the case then no it really isn't that noisy.

I didn't live too far from here when we were renters, had NO trouble and NO noise. I was up a block off of Olive, so I wouldn't be able to tell you about your exact neighbors - you just never know. But I was off of Olive and 79th, it was extremely quiet. Never in my life have I lived somewhere so quiet. I was never bothered or had any issues. We only moved because we no longer wanted to be renters. I never heard planes.

I don't know where on Harmont you'd be, but looking at the map I was about 4.5 miles from the middle of Harmont. Just a rough estimate. If I didn't hear planes I don't think you would? I didn't have gang activity - so I wouldn't think you would. My realtor took me to that area - she is a family friend who would never show me a house in a sketchy crime area. This was nearly 2 years ago, but I can't imagine much would change.
