There are lots of places who will haul them off for you as junk, for a fee. I did a Google search and found someone to haul off a dead refrigerator. I don't know Chandler's regulations on appliances as uncontained trash, and getting them picked up by the city. You could call and ask them.

Call the city and arrange for a bulk trash pick up.

Goodyear has monthly bulk trash pick up where you just place the appliance on the curb and they haul it away...does Chandler have bulk trash pick up?

ETA: Yes they do and appliances are accepted for bulk pickup, here is the link for directions on scheduling this for free. http://www.chandleraz.gov/default.aspx?pageid=232

I heard that SRP will give you $50 for your old refrigerator. They pick up.
