Where are you from in Jersey? Compared to the NYC Metro area the PHX Metro area has a "crazy driver" score of 3 and an "idiot driver" score of 8.

LOL, that might be one of those things that you don't get until you see it for yourself though. But yeah, where in Jersey are you from?

There are threads all over the place here with people expressing their opinions about drivers here and as compared to other places. Search those out. We really don't need another one.

I am From Central Jersey. 40 miles from NYC, Manhattan.

NJ crazy driver score is 8.
NJ idiot driver score is 8.

"3" is quite low, can't imagine that image. I am surprised people don't get run-down more often here.

If NJ is 8, then LA drivers are 9-10. I think 5 or 6 would be a fair number for our drivers here, but only do they get this nuts during rush hour. It reminds me of the traffic on the beltway in DC.

5 to 6 is not bad, I could handle that.

The beltway analogy is spot on.

Like most of the country, avoid anything that is heavily modified, has loud exhaust, gigantic Fox or sports team decals, or pounding stereos, and you'll find that people are remarkably polite around here, in comparison with a lot of other areas. Out on rural interstates, if there is a car plugging the left lane, it's almost always either a rental, or bearing an out of state license plate.

Driving in Phoenix at times can be quite interesting. The first time I visited Phoenix, I thought to myself wow everyone here must want to be part of Nascar! It seemed like everyone was trying out for it. There is bad driving probably everywhere in the world though. Other than the driving, Phoenix is a fantastic place. So for me anyway, the driving thing is a small price to pay. I enjoy being in Phoenix!

10. Only a crazy person would merge onto the highway going 40 mph. Only a crazy person drives in the far left lane when not passing. I travel all over and see this idiocy here more often than anywhere else. 10.

Honestly I don't understand the complaining about Phoenix drivers. Yes, there are some that infuriate you from time to time but even those are minor in the big scheme of things...like today I was making a left, the arrow turned green and the guy in front of me just sat there for 3-4 seconds, so I had to get on the horn. Annoying, but not the end of the world.

As for the freeway, I see people going pretty quick, myself included, usually 10-15 miles over the limit...rarely do I run into someone that's going too slow...and by too slow I mean the actual speed limit. Most everyone does 5-10 over.
