Visited this area last weekend. What I want to know is, what is with all of the jewelry stores? It was a little disappointing, really, that most of the shops were endless jewelry stores carrying what appeared to be the same thing over and over. How do they all survive?

Has it always been that way? I was hoping for more gift-y shops.

I've always wondered how they all stay in business too. That rent cannot be cheap. Go on the other side of Scottsdale Road and it's the same thing, but with art galleries instead of jewelers. How they pay the bills is beyond me too.

Tourists pay their bills! They probably make 90% of their sales between January and April.

Every jewelry store we passed had no customers. All the people were in the other shops. It was really over kill. So much so we started making jokes " hey look! A jewelry store!"
