I've lived in the Phoenix area for 2.5 years but always lived with my girlfriend/fiancé. We just broke up and I'm now on the apartment search for my own place. I work just north of he deck park tunnel (i10). I wouldn't mind living near downtown but am also open to the north Tempe/South Scottsdale area. What areas are recommended for young professionals? I'm 26 and am shooting to try to live around people my own age, so any recommendations on apartments to check out would be greatly appreciated!

I would think there are a lot of people your age in the downtown/midtown area of Phoenix. If I were you, I'd start there. North Tempe probably has a lot of students, younger than you, but there'd still be a fair number like yourself. South Scottsdale, a bit heavier in terms of families, but the apartments would be a bit more single oriented. I don't have the feeling that there are a lot of apartments in south Scottsdale (below Thomas). Go to one of the apartment rental websites and plug in 85257 (for south Scottsdale) and 85281 and see what you see. If something appeals to you and you want to ask here about a specific complex, someone may be able to give you some feedback.
