Does anyone in Rural Metro covered areas have a home insurance provider that will cover the RM costs associated with putting out a house fire? Apparently they do exist, although sometimes the premium is much more expensive, which negates any savings.

Our insurance broker is very thorough, but I think he might be limited in the companies he can deal with, so he might not have contacted all providers when we asked him this question. One problem we have according to him is that our home is a secondary residence, which automatically eliminates most choices.

I have lived in a Rural Metro area for 12 years and have never had an issue with my insurance company, as long as you pay the annual subscription. If you choose not to pay the Rural Metro subscription fee, the bill for service could be very high and many insurance companies will not reimburse. So my suggestion is to pay the subscription, send it to your insurance provider (mine ask for a copy each year we renew) and not have to worry.

Just so you know I have used several major insurance providers over the years without problem.
