We have been looking at Scottsdale but housing seems to be cheaper in Mesa. I saw Scottsdale is a top place to raise kids, but so is Mesa.
Anyone have any info about Mesa and their schools, as I am a teacher and have school age kids.
Thanks!

I'd pick Tempe, Chandler or Gilbert over Mesa, in that order (but not much distance between the three). Not that Mesa is a bad place, but the others are better overall in terms of schools, parks and rec programs, and just general quality of life for the whole family.

Note that some parts of East Mesa are in the Gilbert, Higley, or Queen Creek school districts, all of which are better than the Mesa school district. East Mesa is somewhat more family oriented than West or Central Mesa, and there are a lot more newer developments in that area.

I have applied to so many districts! Thank you for the other school districts in that area. Hopefully I will find something and we will just move close to the school I get a job with. =)

Good points. It will also depend on where you end up working, as to which city is the best option. Far east Mesa can be more of a drive than you want.

Chandler, Gilbert, and even Tempe are much better places to raise children than Mesa. If you can afford Scottsdale, you can afford Chandler, Gilbert, and Tempe.
