Just curious, I have this theory that majority of people that live in Scottsdale came before the late 90s when it was dirt cheap. If you raised a family in Scottsdale, did/does your children live in the area or another part of phoenix? For those that lived here a while, what attracted you here back then? Hoping this thread reaches a good amount of posters/ghosters .

I moved to Scottsdale in 1991 and stayed till 1993. Moved there to shorten my commute, and moved out for the same reason when my employment situation changed.

No one thing appealed to me about Scottsdale; in general I liked it as I have liked other places I've lived in the east valley.

Moved from Arcadia to Scottsdale in 2008 - love the location! Though each year by Feb/March, the tourists/snowbirds get more and more tiresome.

That's like moving next to an airport then complaining about the noise.

One more reason not to live in Scotsdale!

Any desirable area here will have snowbirds. The only way to avoid them is to live in the boonies or somewhere less than desirable.

I'm sure you've interviewed four blocks worth of neighbors.

Actually there are no commercial air traffic zones in Scottsdale. We happen to live in one

No houses for sale and no empty ones, who cares who lives there? There might be snowbirds within 4 blocks of my house but I only know of one on my street. I said "no houses for sale with in four blocks".

I think someone is just butt hurt that he could have bought his house a year earlier and saved 100 grand

My point is that snowbirds are hardly isolated to Scottsdale. I can think of many reasons why someone wouldn't live here, but that isn't a very valid reason.

I do wish I would have been out here sooner but I would gladly pay even more to live here. I just washed my car outside in February. You can't put a price on that!
