Looking to purchase a single family home in the Phoenix area. Budget is from 100,000 - 130,000. Currently renting in the Central Phoenix area. Style of home that I'm interested in is a 1story ranch type style home, a fixer-upper. Not a afraid to put some sweat equity into it. Thoughts????

There are a million locations to find a house like that. Definitely need more information to be able to make specific recommendations for you. Lots of houses like that out here in the west valley (Goodyear, Buckeye, Avondale) but is that the right place for you? No way to tell unless you tell us your specifics.

I am not familiar with Central Phoenix. However, I think your price range is too low. When I was considering Phoenix, I discovered decent homes were priced in the $200, 000 range.

wow...You mean to tell me that decent homes are not to be had in the $100,000 - $150,000 range.... in Phoenix....Not to be funny or anything.....but your taste seems to be a little high on the hog for me. I've had plenty of people tell me I can find a decent priced home within that budget...Look Im not trying to be house poor. I believe there are deals to be had out there...short sales, foreclosures, ...you just have to know where to look.

"fixer upper" yeah it's possible

.. but decent neighborhood wise would be slim pickens. You missed the window of nice homes for 100 grand by three years.
