Been house hunting and saw the strangest thing today. Rows of new houses for available in pretty HOA neighborhoods, and then literally one block over, old houses, trailers, run down area. I looked on a crime map and see there was an armed robbery(!) on West Phelps/north 70th at Las Brisas Pointe (new area), but in the run down area apparently nothing reported at all.

Can anyone clue me in on this area's reputation?

Many thanks!

Welcome to the valley's zoning. Fairly common to see nice neighborhoods within a stone's throw of a more run down area.

Welcome to the Phoenix metro. There are areas where you have low cost mobile homes on one block and $1M+ on the next block. It does not necessarily indicate a high crime area, but it does make you think.
