Looking for restaurants in Phoenix or Scottdale with outdoor dining. Not just an outdoor area, preferably a nice environment, fireplace, etc - someplace you would want to go on a date, take out of town friend, etc.

Off the top of my head, Sapporo Teppanyaki and Sushi in Scottsdale has a nice outdoor area and Cheesecake Factory at Arrowhead has an outdoor area as well, no fireplace, but it's nice nonetheless. Another good place I would think is at Kierland Commons, there are a few restaurants in the middle of the plaza that have outdoor areas and have the "park" right outside plus all the buildings around, it's a nice ambiance.

I agree with the Old Town Tortilla Factory suggestion. They have an awesome patio and drinks which makes up for their just so-so food.

Another place I like with a great patio/outdoor dining is Barcelona in Scottsdale. Further north up in Cave Creek is El Encanto. They have a beautiful outdoor dining area with a duck pond.

Default Outdoor Dining

I love Lon's at The Hermosa. It is in Paradise Valley in a secluded neighborhood with a beautiful outdoor patio. Go to the website at www.lons.com.

I recommend Elements on Sanctuary mountain in Scottsdale. It offers a beautiful view of the city. You can have drinks while sitting outside. They have outdoor heaters to keep you warm so it's very nice.

If you are looking for a nice lounge and bar, go to Suede in old town Scottsdale. It has a huge outdoor patio and it's very trendy.

The Green Tea room in Kierland Commons in north Scottsdale is nice too
