So, I am looking for a good, cheap massage place somewhere in a region from Tempe to Gilbert.

Really, I am looking for something similar to "Bali Foot Spa" here: https://plus.google.com/117154277284...ut?gl=us&hl=en . While I don't expect anyone here to have been there (especially since it is a hole in the wall), it is a place that gives *amazing* $20 1-hour massages.

I would go and try a number of places around the above region, but trying out massage places can be a bit...touchy. I don't want to walk into a place that is just trying to push you into a "happy ending"; I want a place that actually does great massages for cheap. I have been to some Massage Envy places, but they seem to have massages that are more chiropractic than relaxing.

Anyone have some local favorites?

I don't think great massages and cheap go hand in hand...

Well, to some extent, they certainly can...

I have had $500+ massages at high-end resorts - thoroughly enjoyed them and will continue to do so in the future. They have their place. While the $20-$30 asian-type massages aren't quite that, they have their place too and provide a very nice end-of-the-week de-stressing at a price you don't mind spending every week. I know where I can go for the former category. I don't yet have a place here for the latter.

East Valley Institute of Technology - they have a massage school too. I had a hot stone massage a couple of years ago for $12. Not the best, but definitely cheap! The school year is almost over though....better hurry!

Healing Arts Day Spa - Dobson and the 60. Swedish for $39/hr, prices go up from there. Cheaper than higher end spas and massage envy.

We used to go the Arizona school of massage in Tempe, 2 massages for $25 when they have their specials ($25 a massage regularly, with volume discounts, I believe), but the waits started to get to like 2-3 hours, so we stopped going there.
