I am a big fan of Queen Creek, but even I couldn't recommend commuting from there to St. Joe's on a routine basis. Without traffic, the hospital is a good hour's drive from most of Queen Creek. With traffic, an accident on the roadway, or during the rare occasions we have rain, the commute would obviously be longer. The drive from San Tan Valley would be even worse. Don't forget, after your wife leaves the house for work and gets to her destination, she would have to park, walk into the building, etc., meaning she would have to allow more than the actual driving time going in. If she will be at work for 12-13 hours at a time, that is 12-13 hours plus 1.5 minimum commute time in, (to allow for traffic or other slow-downs, parking, etc.) and a good hour (minimum) getting home. That becomes a 16+ hour day, not even taking into account time to shower, dress, etc. before work. It doesn't leave much time for sleeping or anything else, for that matter.

I would suggest far north/north-east Mesa. It meets most of your criteria. The drive from there to St. Joe's is long but not terrible, (and much shorter than from Queeen Creek or San Tan Valley); on the flip side, the drive from there to school would only be 10-12 minutes, or so. The most difficult part of your wish list would be making sure the houses are far enough apart. You should be able to check that part via Google-earth and/or your realtor should be able to send you pictures for anything you are seriously considering.

I find it next to impossible to believe that a horde of Europeans of a broad age range who have acclimatized themselves to New Haven, CT, land o' Italian-Americans, are now going to be happy living in the San Tan Valley OR Queen Creek.

My concern as well. That, and finding what you are looking for for everyone may be VERY difficult.

Not to worry. The OP hasn't returned since just a few hours after his last post on 6/17. Frankly, I thought the whole thing was a joke when I first read it. If it's not a joke, it still sounds like a crazy plan to me!
