What a colossal screw-up, there is now way to fix that and not impact the election results. I feel sorry for the person responsible.

Qualified suburban Phoenix council candidate left off ballot - ktar.com

I'll be glad though when all those stupid campaign signs are taken down.

Agree that it was a big mistake. I feel sorry for the person or persons responsible too (if there wasn't someone double checking, there will be in the future) They are sending out new ballots to those on the early list to have them vote again, and will not count those ballots that were sent in already that did not have his name on them. That's the best they can do at this point.

The signs are a complete blight on the landscape. Enough already. At least it will be better after the primary.

Not to mention they are like missiles when a storm blows through. I was driving down Van Buren on Sunday when a storm came through the west valley and watched the signs get torn out and one smacked the hell out of a car as it was driving by. All the signs on that corner were gone after the wind went through.

Don't even get me started on all of the political calls I'm getting. I'm considering unplugging my home phone until after the election since it never stops ringing.

If you do the early voting thing you can cut down on some of the calls. Many of the campaigns operate off of lists that are updated daily. The database shows whether or not your early ballot has been received by the county. If they construct their lists properly they eliminate people who have voted. This won't work with all such calls but can be helpful in lowering the volume of them.

Great information, thanks. I'll have to get my ballot mailed soon then.

Got my replacement ballot in the mail today and guess what the missing candidate is still missing from the ballot, could they really have been that stupid and mailed it out again with the old ballot.

From the city website, here are the candidates: Elections-Elections
Mesquite District Candidates

Bridget Binsbacher
Ken Krieger
Ben Toma

Ken Krieger is still missing from the replacement ballot, what a huge screw-up.

Yeah, they did. Sent the same replacement ballot as the original. Saw it on the news this evening.

It's all done by computer. They supposedly made the corrections and then ran the print and mail. Could be a bug in the app

if (candidate.name == 'krieger')
{
candidate.ignore;
}
