This simple remedy may sound "off the wall" but it will definitely help with the blistering and then the peeling . . . take one Aspirin every two hours for the next two to three days.

Good Luck
Uh. Do not do this.

Hydrate.
Aloe.
Watch for fever.
You have first and second degree burns.
Keep the vesicles intact if you can.

Well, I see you already went to the hospital, but I will say, I've had burns that bad before and didn't get treatment. Time heals all wounds, as they say. I once spent almost a week in nothing but a giant t-shirt and couldn't sleep with a pillow because I couldn't arch my neck. It was the most painful burn ever, but like any sunburn, it goes away.

I am not in any way a medical professional, so do not consider this medical advice - but having extremely sensitive, sunburned-prone, pale skin, I've had many a second-degree burn and never sought medical attention. Aloe, cool baths, rest. Emphasis on the aloe. Don't skimp. Slather that stuff on.

aloe & anything with lidocaine can help the pain - but to reduce scarring & speed healing you might try going to a doc & asking for silvadene cream (which is rx only) If you have a bad burn & know that it's going to blister, quickly coating it with silvadene has helped me in the past to reduce / prevent the blisters.. the stuff is magic, even if wikipedia says it isn't !
