Everyone knows I'm from San Diego.

As a kid I was at the beach maybe 6 or 7 times a year, as an adult maybe once every 5 years. Too cold, too crowded, didn't feel like fighting the traffic, parking a nightmare, just had no need or want to go there.

In Arizona I have BEAUTIFUL lakes, tubing down the salt river, water-parks with tons of rides for only 59 dollars for a season pass...

I have more fun here with the yearlong outdoor activities than I had in both Los Angeles and San Diego combined !

There's people in Aspen that never ski, and people near the water that don't go in. Doesn't mean anything really. Based on prices alone, the demand seems to be there for property near the water so you are in the minority.

Let me know when enough of them leave that I can afford my oceanfront dream house. I'll go the other way.

This hot dry weather is giving me a deja vu feeling of living in San Diego 20+ years ago. I remember the summer days got pretty warm there, especially during Santa Ana winds. Then it hit me how good that cool ocean felt. I'd bring my 7'10 "egg" surfboard with me, drink a couple beers, hit the surf for a little bit.

I seem to have forgotten that it's all still there, 5-6 hours from here. In the OTR trucking world, that's an easy run. I want to relive those days of my early 20's, without the beer (drink/drug cought up w/me later on).

That cool pacific is pulling me like a magnet it feels like.
