Boy, and I though moving with ONE kid all alone to another state was tough!! (and lots of people have raised their eyebrows and possibly silently called me crazy, not knowing that I had some funds and a job lined up - which, unfortunately, did not last long).

OP, I would think that the first thing to check for you is to check how childcare assistance work in any new place where you are moving to. With 3 kids, the bill can be 2-3 times more than a rent could be, and definitely more than one's paycheck. And, those programs vary by state, so I'd want to make sure that I COULD apply and be eligible for it, as it is the base for any job search.

Second, job search is going to be very complicated by the need to be SUPER-flexible (kids being sick at different times, x3 doctors appointments, x3 school meetings, plus they eventually can be in different daycares/schools which would take even more time for drop off/pick up, and so on... It is not as hard to find a job as in, say, 2008-2009, but STILL... I just don't know...

Like others have said, working from home would be easiest, if you find something like that. Though, still may not be easy if kids are staying home and Mom has to work on the phone for 8 hours. So you'd still need daycare.

Besides your friend in Queen Creek that you mention, I'm guessing you have support options from family/friends where you live now? For that reason alone hopefully, and given your situation, I wouldn't be moving anywhere unless I had a job lined up in the place I wanted to move to. And most importantly, I'd put what's best for my kids far forward/first beyond my own needs and wants, what's best for their stability like friends, family, any support structure that they might have that possibly is more available where you are than what might or might not exist in a new place. Just some thoughts/imho.
