I'm 24 and I grew up on a small cattle ranch outside of Willcox, Arizona. So I've always dressed in Wranglers, tucked in western shirts, cowboy boots, western belt and buckle, rodeo wallet, and a Stetson hat or a ball cap. It's still comfortable for hot Arizona summers. I'm 6'2" and a 185 pounds. I work out regularly, so it's not like I don't have a bad figure for the clothes I wear. But I never got funny looks or anything in Willcox based on how I dress. But ever since I moved to Mesa for work I get weird looks sometimes if I dress that way in the Valley. I usually won't wear a Stetson cowboy hat unless I'm going out to a bar or a nightclub. I'll usually just wear a regular ball cap. Only time people don't seem to notice is if I'm in Boot Barn or some other Western Wear store or a rodeo. I don't know if it's the fact I get out my truck and people see me dressed like that or what. I've been a cowboy all my life. It's who I am and I can't help how I grew up. But I don't know if it's because there is so much diversity in the Phoenix area or maybe I'm just paranoid. Just don't know why everyone looks at me the way they do. I mean Arizona is a western state. You'd think people here would be used to seeing a cowboy wouldn't they?

Sorry, just bored at work and figured I'd post something to pass the time.

I doubt as many people are noticing how you dress as you think. Unless you wear a flashing neon sign on your stetson I would venture to guess no one else really cares how you dress.

It's just a different look than one typical of Phoenix. More like Wickenburg, Texas or just about any farming community this side of Indiana.
