Brother is relocating to Scottsdale for work. He has already visited the place and is looking into purchasing a condo (was a recent conversion) in the Paradise Valley area. He said this is a very nice area (looks so from checking online). But since he is will be paying somewhere around $235, 000 for this condo + 15000 for a garage(I guess this is a car garage) , and some other incentives. Based on research and from talking to a few folks this looks like the normal price for a condo in this area. But thought we should check with folks more familiar with the Scottsdale area. Also, is a $15000 garage really worth it?

Do you know what the complex name is and/or cross streets? Is it a one bedroom? That sounds like an ok price, it just depends where it is. If it's a 2 bedroom than it may be cheap. If he wants a garage then he should buy one, they come in handy.

Condo conversions are just not that great. I would never buy one. I lived in apts for many years and had so many problems. They are usually not built the same. Unfortunately, we have so many that have converted.

sablebaby,

The place is called Bella Terra Condo's. It's on 5335 east Shea Blvd. Yes, it's a one bedroom. with new fixtures, bath, counter top, appliances etc.

Thanks,

Yes, that is a nice complex. It was called something else, I can't think of it's name. But that's a great area and worth the money (imo). As apartments they were always higher end. I say tell your brother to go for it!
