I was wondering, what is the typical attitude of Phoenix area HOAs concerning lighting for Valentine's Day? We are proposing next year to put lighting for Valentine's Day after the Christmas season ends.

This should be a fairy easy switch, since we would leave our red bulbs up, but would swap out the green bulbs for pink ones after January 1.

I know I have seen in our neighborhood colored bulbs used for holidays other than Christmas, usually black/orange for Halloween and green for Veteran's Day. Specifically, I am hesitant about the pink bulbs.

Colored house lights, outside of Christmas time, look trashy.

I regularly see black and orange Halloween lights every year, and last November I saw more green Veteran's Day lights than usual. However, I think I have only seen one home with pink Valentine's Day lights.

just make sure your black lights really turn out black.....because they appear purple here in the thread!!

(obviously, you didn't need to choose a color as the default color here is black!)

Everybody knows that "black" lights are not really black, but produce violet and ultraviolet light.

Each HOA is different, so refer to the R&Rs. Ours refers to a 30 day window on each side of the holiday where the decorations are permitted, but does not give a list of "approved" holidays for which you may decorate.
