Spring Training one of only two things on my bucket list.

Made it!

Going to watch A's tomorrow.

Do they have practice earlier in the day or just the game?

They usually have morning workouts/practice at Fitch Park, just down the road from Hohokam Stadium.

Last question, I swear!

Can one walk from Fitch Park to Hohokam Statium?

They will generally be approachable BEFORE the game or AFTER heading out to the parking lot. During the game, they view it as a real distraction as they have to develop a written report on a number of prospects on the teams that they are scouting.

If you Google scouting reports, you can find scouting reports on thousands of players - including many hall of farmers. That will give you some idea of what they are looking at.

Each time a player is out there in spring training, they are competing for a position of the major league team or the 40 man roster. In addition, they are "interviewing" with the other 29 teams.

Yes, it's probably a 10-15 minute walk.
