He was painting a broad brush against Mexicans ! Hispanics are very different when it comes to culture, food and other dynamics but I was offended by Trump's remarks regarding our fellow breathern in regards to Mexicans who have been the largest Latino population going back to generations in the US.

Can you imagine if TRUMP said the same things about African Americans? He would be labeled a "Racist"!
Trump was very clear that he was speaking of illegal immigrants.....he has also spoken very highly of legal Hispanics of whom he has employed hundreds if not thousands.

It is ridiculous for people to keep missing the point of the illegal vs the legal aspects of his talking points.

And yes of the illegals grouping there have been a lot of killers and rapists and all around bad people mingled in with the rest of the people....they commit crimes at a much higher percentage than that of their population...someone is raping the women and girls as they migrate north...maybe you can explain who is doing all the raping, robbing and assaulting....the big majority isn't by legal american citizens.

But that is the game that has been going on for the past few years. Ever since the media told everyone that they needed to stop calling them illegal aliens...all of a sudden people who broke our immigration laws and came here illegally are lumped in with everyone that went through the proper channels and are all called "immigrants". Personally, I'd be pissed if I spent all the time and money to immigrate to a country legally just to be lumped in with illegals.

Here are the results of a nationwide poll that was just done last week on support for Trump's plan for a temporary ban on admitting refugees from the Islamic Crescent countries, until they can be properly identified and vetted.

71% of Republicans support the plan, which is even higher than Trump's overall support among his party.

More surprisingly, one third of Hillary and Bernie's likely voters support the idea.

Among Independents, 49% support the idea, with 36% opposing it.

Overall, half of Americans overall support Trump's plan, with just 38% opposing it.

Sadly, this is worse than it sounds. The poll question (as well as Trump's proposal) is not banning refugees from certain countries, which would be legal, it is banning Muslims from entering the country, which would not be legal (or practical).

Practically, though, how I stated it is the way it would be done, just as Jimmy Carter ordered the State Department to end all visas for Iranians.

Other issues that Trump has trumpeted show a similar level of public support, though.

A Rasmussen Report national telephone survey found that 70% of Likely Republican Voters agree with the GOP presidential hopeful that the United States should build a wall along the Mexican border to help stop illegal immigration. Seventeen percent (17%) of GOP voters disagree, while 13% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Ninety-two percent (92%) of Republicans agree that the United States should deport all illegal immigrants who have been convicted of a felony in this country. Only four percent (4%) disagree.

Among all likely voters, 51% favor building a wall on the border; 37% disagree, and 12% are not sure.

Eighty percent (80%) support the deportation of all illegal immigrants convicted of a felony; only 11% are opposed.

Totally agree with this... We really need to do something to keep out all of these Canadians.

Yes, I truly feel sorry for people playing by the rules and get nothing more than a kick in the gut for doing so. Good thing to teach the next generation, eh? Breaking the rule of law pays and sell it as "progressive"! I think they should just cut to the chase and get t-shirts for such people who play by the rules that say "SUCKER!" on them.

Jimmy Carter's order was a defacto ban on muslims since they make up something like 98% of all Iranians.

The right thing to do would be to ban all people coming in until we can figure out who we are letting in....sadly I think the fox's are already in the hen house.....the next attack that is probably already planned out is an when and not an if......people need to be vigilant any time they are near "soft targets"....if you see something....say something....political correctness be damned.

While I'm glad you're defending the First Amendment with regard to protesting, civil disobedience against injustices is an important American tradition. Sure, it's illegal; but, I would argue most Americans find the illegal actions conducted by those in the Abolitionist, Women's Suffrage, Labor, and Civil Rights movements to have been just.

If protestors truly believe that a Trump presidency represents a threat to their livelihoods or even their lives, such protestations may be considered just. I suppose, only time will tell.
