If you want to see what the future has in store for the Diamondbacks, look up SunTrust Park.
Do you mean the park itself or the public debt/private profit stadium scheme?

I dont understand why a good team, like the Dbacks, have such a hard time filling the stadium...
Temp controlled, comfy seats, good ticket prices, everything you would want to get great crowds..

Sorry for bringing up Chicago again, but for years, a sheet team like the Cubs, in an old, run down crap house like Wrigley field, with horrible weather, sold out almost every game, even when they were the worst team in baseball; a team that has been good for the most part for years, like the D Backs, cant get decent crowds regularly...what gives?

Most of the population here is like you, and are fans of other teams out of the market.

well, I have watched/like the Dbacks for a few years, and now that this is my home, I am definitely a fan now..

going to the Astros game Sunday, looking forward to that!

of course, ultimate dream would be a cubs/dbacks playoff series, and this could be the year for that

This is a good point. I will root for the diamondbacks as long as I live here...or unless my Giants play them.

And I'm an Angels fan. However I'll still go to 5 or so games a year when offered free Tix to a suite or otherwise great seats. It's rare that I don't have something else going on with the kids, etc on evenings and weekends and can go.

I have had season tickets from the beginning but would cancel if they moved away from downtown. On the day that they move to the reservation I become a Dodgers fan.

For the record I grew up a Detroit Tigers fan and still root for them but not against the Diamondbacks.

The Dbacks have been decent as of late (at best), and this year they're taking to the skies. Expect the "fans" to return, because they're rockin again. Fans here are mostly from elsewhere and somehow refuse to follow AZ's teams, and its aggravating. Chase Field is a good enough place to take in a game, sure enough, but the upper decks get quite warm, even with the a/c cranked. That's the only complaint I have about that place.

I would never call Wrigley a "crap house". Its a gem, rough as it is. Its the history and the sights and sounds that make it a world class destination. People literally come from all over the world to see places like Wrigley and Fenway because theyre the only two remaining ballparks that are original and gorgeous, and what embodies baseball. There are no gimmicky swimming pools, trains blowing off steam, cannons firing, etc. Its just an old school ballpark that reeks of charm, warts and all.

And yet it's one of the older ballparks (14th oldest) in MLB. So, it's not just here.

I don't think even one of the tribes can afford to build another retractable roof facility. And the odds of getting any other government entity to do it are not good. Major renovation of Chase is the only option to get something "better".
