So call me gullible but a family member sends me this picture and says she just rented this home in Phoenix for under $600/ month; Does this picture look familiar to anyone? Are you able to identify the area?
It sounds too good to be true. I think she is full of it!!!

Could be any of our man made lakes around town...albeit in a lower rent area/older home for $600 per month.

Ask for her address so you can send a house warming gift. That'll call her bluff or not.

Agree with this. I don't recognize the picture, either. Lots of communities around here with man made lakes.

It looks a bit like one of the man made lakes in Gilbert. But they look pretty similar. They also alot of manmade lakes in Chandler.

These areas tend to have a major price premium. Fake lake footage tends to increase the price 50%

I rented a room in a owner-occupied house in Gilbert, I was charged $600/mo just for a room in a house.

The homes for rent in the area rented for about $1500/mo and they were 3-4 bedroom, 2 bathroom and about 1800 square feet. The utilities were supposedly around $500/mo. So I would estimate $2000/mo for everything for a 4 bedroom house in Gilbert and Chandler.

The single family homes in the area are 250,000-300,000 dollars.

It has to be the lakes around there.

There are homes on man-made lakes in Northern Glendale but they hover in the $800-low 1M range. I don't see how anyone could find something cheap on the lakefront here in general. I think she is lying as well.

OP...Me thinks someone is pulling the wool over thoust eyes. Those 2 story homes in the picture look to be over 3000 sq ft or they are groups of condos. The waterfront homes that I'm familiar with, and I live on one, usually rent out for about $1.00+ per sq ft. monthly.

Here is what I would consider a comp as a rental. Lakefront and a large 3000 sq ft home. No way is she renting one for anywhere near $600...this one is five times that.
