We were told we had to have Rural Metro services as we are an unincorporated county of Litchfield Park. Is this correct?

Litchfield Park is incorporated, as a city I think, but they might not have their own Fire Department

Probably unincorporated Maricopa County with a LP address, if so it is most likely rural metro

Sorry, that's exactly what I meant.

And that's why we were told to pay for Rural Metro Fire services.

The city of Litchfield doesn't have police or fire. They use County for police and Goodyear for fire. The unincorporated (county) Litchfield Park addresses also have County for police, and Rural/Metro fire (IIRC).

At one time the city of Litchfield Park used Rural/Metro for fire, but that was a while back.

You don't have to have Rural Metro, or should I say "you don't have to PAY Rural Metro. Many in our subdivision don't pay 'em anymore or ever even started to pay due to their poor performance.

So if you don't have them, who responds? What's the point of having them? Our neighbor and realtor said we needed them in the unincorporated county.

There is no requirement to subscribe, but if you are not a subscriber and they take out your fire or provide emergency medical services, they will leave you with a huge bill.

The only "huge bill" you may face is if you catch fire. Ambulance is the same as it would be if you paid as long as you decline fire response.

I love the last mailer I got from R.M. warning me that if a person doesn't subscribe to R.M. and you get into a car accident or if you get hurt at a park that requires fire response you will be billed. Yeah, sure.. Okay.
SO NOT TRUE.

They will respond with their one truck (unless it's busy elsewhere) and if history repeats do nothing until city fire shows up to start things rolling.
