What areas of Phoenix to avoid to avoid fake materialistic people. I heard Scottsdale but all of scottsdale can't be like that. Is it more near the north?

The few times I've been up to Scottsdale, there was always a TON of makeup involved. Ever checked out Gilbert?

Oh please. So something that YOU consider stupid should be off limits? It's a legitimate question to the op. Deal w/ it. This IS a free country, or was anyway. How about this...which forums can we go to if we want to avoid controlling people?

I'd guess that you might find what you describe as fake, materialistic people in any affluent area of the Valley-- along with perfectly normal people. So, your odds of not encountering such people would be better in more upper middle class neighborhood in any city in the Valley, including Phoenix and all the suburbs.

How about the mirror in your bathroom to start!
Stereotyping any city is just wrong.
If we allow this post to go unchecked than the next post will be ....is it safe to drive in so and so.

How about asking instead where to find genuine people of good character? Rather than avoiding the bad apples isn't it better to search out the good ones?

Maryvale, Guadalupe or Greenway Square would all suit you well.
