Well, the hubby is already in N. Scottsdale working. We were looking at Ftn Hills, which is nice, but what about Cave Creek? Is the Carefree Highway not really so Carefree traveling from there to N. Scottsdale at rush hour? Thanks...

Geez, I hope someone can help you out. I never heard of a problem up there, as it's "out there." But I do know there are lots of houses there, but I don't think as many in most areas.

The beauty of Cave Creek is that its travel patterns are generally the opposite of the mainstream heavy traffic flows. There aren't any issues with the Carefree Highway, its generally on Scottsdale Road and Pima Road heading from the 101 North at evening rush hour, thinning out past Pinnacle Peak Road............

I guess the houses I've been looking at are actually in Tatum Ranch... which is North Phoenix with a Cave Creek mailing adress!!!
So the dh would probably be going down that Scottsdale road... it's funky, huh? Cuz man, I am loving those cribs!!! Do you guys know Tatum Ranch & is it decent? Pretty? Friendly?

Tatum Ranch is NICE. I remember when they were first building. It was the palce to be in the North. It's still a very nice place to live. It's all upscale up there.

I lived in Tatum Ranch, and have no complaints. Toll Brothers has a new development going in on Dixeleta and 56th Street, and the Sonoran Parkway shall be available in the next couple of years, to connect to the I-17, so there is a lot going on. The HOA's are low, ($30. a month) location is the key for resale. If you need a realtor familiar with the area, be happy to recommend....

Good Luck in your search.

Your name is ScooterMama...do you ride a bike?
I don't live in the area, but this is my understanding:
Cave Creek is biker friendly - but Carefree is definitely NOT.

I ride a motor scooter... it's "twist n go" (no shifting) & very quiet. Bikers usually laugh at us.

Yes, I'm sure they do, lol..
I've been thinking about switching from horses to a Harley, but don't know if I'll actually ever do that.
I've discovered that the majority of bikers are actually pretty nice people - not at all the image that is often portrayed.
Their looks are often soooo deceiving - doctors, lawyers, etc... all looking like wild ones Fri afternoon thru Sun evening, lol!!

If you're on a scooter, the Carefree cops probably won't give you any problems.

I don't know where you're originally from, but you should be able to ride your scooter year round.
Have fun!

Bikers are great, my brother is one, & my friends in Tucson who I definitely plan to ride with. It's just I've discovered the ease of never shifting or clutching, & I'm hooked!!!
