Was at a Spring Training game in Surprise AZ this past weekend. Had a couple of "American Kolsch" beers by Boulevard Brewing out of Kansas City, and man were they good. Later I had a bottle of Michelob "Ultra" and was it ever ultra, ultra bland that is.

The stadium in Surprise is my favorite of all the ballparks here solely because of Boulevard Brewing.

Free parking too.

Went to the Reds game and enjoyed it. Even had Skyline Chili from back in Ohio! (though not nearly as good).

Well, at least you got it out of your system... (Pun painfully intended)

Just dreadful stuff.

The A's stadium is right behind my apartment complex. It's kind of neat to have the doors and windows open and hear the crowd cheering. (Or booing as the case may be.)

Worth noting: Spring training begins and ends a week earlier than previous seasons to accommodate the regular season opening sooner.

My first spring training game will be the giants vs the rangers in Peoria this Friday. Then
saturday, I'm going to Scottsdale stadium. I heard great things about that stadium.

The one thing Scottsdale Stadium has going for it is all the nearby eats and drinks establishments. The park itself isn't anything to write home about. It's nice enough but Sloan, Salt River and (if you can get past all that comes with a visit to Glendale) Camelback because they are much better in terms of amenities and aesthetics. My sleeper pick might also be Tempe Diablo due to a diverse selection of in-park food items and the buttes in the background.

YMMV
