I decided to make my own scotch bonnet hot sauce and went to the store to get some scotch bonnet peppers for the recipe. I have now been to several stores and no one has them.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy them?

Habenero's are the same species and what you will see at all grocery stores and in hot sauce at the stores.

They are similar species but definitely not the same. Scotch bonnets are fruitier/sweeter AND hotter than habanero. They can be substituted in a pinch, but I wouldn't expect to make scotch bonnet hot sauce out of habanero peppers.

But I agree that supermarkets mislabele them regularly. Ranch Market would be your best bet, or grow your own.

Yes scotch bonnet and haberno peppers taste very different and have very different heat levels.
I cannot find any grocery store with the name being "Ranch Market", can you be more specific?

16th St and Roosevelt is the one I've been to and can vouch for but they're all over. I don't know if they're as big and cool as that one, though.

LINK to store locations

They have a nice little restaurant inside, grab yourself something to eat while you're there. Also they make great cakes, etc., e.g. tres leches. It's a fun shopping experience.

You will probably have to grow your own if you want real Scotch Bonnet peppers. Habaneros are ubiquitous, but you'd need a Caribbean market I'd imagine, to find fresh SBs. Ranch Market caters to Latino shoppers, with a fairly heavy emphasis on Mexican groceries. SB peppers aren't a big item in that cuisine.

I just ordered the Walkerswood bottle from Amazon. If ingredients are scarce, just buy the alternative.
