Is there any laws regarding a working AC in restaurants? I have been going to this fast food restaurant for the past few years and every summer its hotter in the dining room then outside. Im only there for 20mins out of the day but the employees there suffer there whole shift.

ARE there any laws? As long as no one lives there, I don't believe air conditioning is required. My dry cleaner doesn't have AC and I always feel so bad for the employees. It's hotter than hell in there.

Why would you keep patronizing a place like that?

Who are you talking to? I keep going to the dry cleaner because it's convenient and they provide good service.

I know in the Tucson area, rental homes can have swamp coolers instead of air conditioning. This is often the case of many rentals in Tucson that advertise free electricity. Not sure if that would be allowed in the Phoenix area.

If you can smell fermenting ass exhaust from the bathroom, yes.

It's a national chain fast food place but it's the closest one to our house and its 10-15 miles away. But my wife and I like the food there so we suffer.

If you are concerned report what's going on to the national office of the chain.
I'd take a thermometer to dinner next time you go so you can tell them exactly how hot it is though. That takes away the argument "well, you must not be acclimated to the heat here".
There are health department food safety concerns as to sweat dropping into the food so there's that...

I had to make my annual trek to the laundromat last weekend to wash my too-big-for-my-machine comforter. The one closest to my house is also a dry cleaner and there was no AC. It was pretty miserable in there. I almost took a part time job at a dry cleaner back in the Midwest and they also had no AC. I think it is common for dry cleaners to not bother with AC as it would never be able to keep up with the steam and whatnot.

I, too, wondered if there were some sort of law regarding AC in Phoenix.

Don't you know that the State of Arizona would never allow the City of Phoenix to mandate A/C in rental homes? That's how things work in this nutty state.
