...thirsty.

No, they are making me crazy. They were the LOUDEST I remember in years.

I've talked to most other people, and most say they haven't heard them at all this year.

Anyone else hearing a lot of Cicadas this year?

I haven't heard them either but around here they are mostly down by the river in the Cottonwood trees. My cousin lives right on the river and, yep, they are driving her crazy! I think we forget, from year to year, how annoying they are so when they come back it SEEMS worse than before. OR you are really being invaded!!

I think that was the soccer fans. It is over now, you can go back to sleep.

I haven't heard them in my neighborhood. Maybe I need to do a walkabout.

That would explain the pounding of soccer balls against my window.

A few years ago when I was living near Chicago there was an invasion of these things. Had a few fly kamikaze into my car when I'd drive around with the windows down.

How often do they appear in Phoenix? In Chicagoland there's a lot of time between cicada seasons. Someone told me they took years to hatch.

I hear them as I drive by some trees, but I haven't heard any in my neighborhood, or God forbid, my backyard. It would drive me crazy if I had to always hear that sound.

I was watching a House Hunters International show on HGTV one night and they were in some place like Cazumel. You could hear the Cicadas REALLY loud in the audio of the show and I wondered why anyone would want to live in the midst of that! lol

I'm a Dallas native and love to hear them as they are the harbinger of summer. It's almost nostalgic for me...

I've heard them in only one place so far. Shopping center at Mayo and Scottsdale on Saturday. I thought there was something wrong with the electrical wires until it hit me. I kind of like hearing them. Especially driving down a long road and the buzzing comes and goes depending on the tree you're passing.
