The Goodyear store zoning request (for the store not the distribution center specifies a 22,000 sf store. I would think they are all going to be built off pretty much the same set of plans.

Probably because that is what it is called in the title of this thread. I don't know if I've called it Aldi's in this thread but I don't know anything about the store other than what I've seen in this thread. If it is being called Aldi's in this thread it doesn't take a genus to figure why others are calling it that.

No genus needed. Fair enough. Come on, too easy! I agree though, I didn’t take note of the thread title.

I’m from Michigan too and that’s just plain wrong. Kmart’s??! Nails on a chalkboard. Sorry!

No, the trash has to go somewhere, they put there expenses on somebody else. That is worse than cheap. I dumped it in the back of an aldi store.
And who wants to shop in a store where everything sits on pallets????

From the Aldi's's's's website, they normally have a 12,000 sf store totaling 5 isles. So it seems the Goodyear location is getting one of the bigger stores with more fresh produce. IMHO, the lack of fresh produce was the major downside of their smaller stores. Every time I shop at any grocery store, I am looking for fresh produce. So for me, the original Aldi layout was only used to stock up on can goods. Based off of Goodyar demographics, I would have expected a bigger store. In fact, read Aldi's new store design mimics Whole Foods - Business Insider .

"The discount grocery chain Aldi is taking aim at Whole Foods with a new store design.... The retailer is spending more than $1.6 billion to revamp stores and open locations with the updated format...."

My lack of confidence with Aldi success in the Phoenix area marketplace was based off of that smaller footprint. It seems the new stores are going to be bigger and better.Walmart is taking notice by aggressively reducing their prices in some of their markets. Nope. Never heard any of those. I also say Aldi.

As successful as they are, I don't think people mind the pallets.

They don't usually have a lot of trash, either (not sure where trash is even discussed here). Since they don't give free bags (you can buy them for 5 or 10 cents) people take the boxes the products are stocked in as they empty and use them to carry their stuff.

does it really make a difference if it is Aldi's; Aldis's or whatever as long as we all know what we are talking about? Here the signs out front of the stores say Aldis.

Look again. It's simply Aldi.
