I added a pool to mine to compensate for the gravel we put down after removing the grass.

Hey-ohhhhh!!!

Who cares, it doesn't change the fact that the ever increasing concrete jungle is raising a the overnight lose and it is doesn't cool off anymore. This is raising the averaging temperature so all of this unchecked growth is with be the eventual downfall.

Invest in AC manufacturing and servicing companies.

I'm planning to winter in Phoenix so a little extra heat is a plus from my perspective.

Ya mon.. I've always wanted to live on an island, mon.

So are you saying transplants and those no-good-lousy snowbirds are also warming up Oct-April when I am here?

and without the "urban sprawl, we'd cram twice as many people into half the size (like LA)... I'm sure you'd complain then too.

I grew up in Phoenix in the 50s. I left for Colorado in 1977. I remember the summers as being intolerable and I guess they have become worse.

Many of the people I know who still live there leave for the summer. The facts explained in that article may help explain why.

Of course, you can just choose to stay inside and crank the AC to your comfortable temperature.

Hurricanes and flooding (never mind the outrageous cost of flood insurance, IF you can get it). And it gets NASTY humid there. Better to stay up north as global warming will make the winters as nice as Phoenix's in 20 years.

Don't worry, about a 1/4 of these transplants end up leaving after a few years because they cant take the heat any more.
