My husband and I will be relocating to Phoenix from Southern California within the month. We are purging and decluttering like crazy and leaving old furniture behind (It's so old that Goodwill wouldn't take it). We need to buy new or newer used furniture when we arrive plus appliances for our rental house in Gilbert (comes with no refrigerator or washer/dryer). However we have bad credit from a previous bankruptcy.

A Google search suggested Conn's Home Plus because of their "Yes" financing. However the reviews from Yelp, Consumer Affairs, and the BBB suggested to avoid them at all costs unless you're desperate.

So we're looking for suggestions for local appliance/furniture stores that offer easy financing without asking you for your firstborn child :-)

Thanks in advance for your kind assistance!

Phoenix has a wicked good Craigslist for appliances- if you get up early on Saturday morning you can probably score a decent usable washer/dryer pair for $100 - if you don't have a pickup to fetch it with, you can rent one at the depot and/or lowes for $20.

I've bought so many fridges/stoves washers & dryers that I've lost count. My last purchase was a matching fridge/stove/microwave/dishwasher from a flipper swapping out black for stainless for $200. There are always people moving in, moving out, getting married, divorced, etc, and any of those things often involves dumping great furniture & appliances for almost nothing.

Don't do the "rent to own" thing - if you really want to go to a store, hit the re-store or goodwill- they usually have decent stuff cheap.
