We're building a new house now and are doing a door between the master and bathroom, for some of the reasons mentioned above, such as getting ready without disturbing the other person and also keeping the bedroom dark for sleeping.

Didn't you just build a pool at your current house a few years back?

Something I hate. When we bought our home it was something on our shopping list to avoid. Plus, during hot showers it keeps all the steam in the bathroom

As a recent transplant from the midwest, it was the first thing I noticed when looking at homes out here, no master bathroom door. It doesn't bother us much since there is a door on the water closet where the toilet is, but it would be nice to have a bathroom door so as not to disturb my spouse when I'm getting ready in the mornings for work (I start much earlier in the day than him). We may one day update and put in a door, but for now, we are getting used to it.

I have toured all the homes being built in my 20 lot subdivision and a few didn't have a door to the Mbath. I can see the aesthetics, but when my husband gets up at 3am to get ready for work, it's nice to have a door to close to keep out the light and noise. Yes, there is a separate toilet room, but we also have a door the the entire Mbath area.

I like it that way. I'm from the east coast.
