I don't know how large a wedding you are planning, and I haven't been there in years (have driven by a lot), but a couple of my friends had their receptions at the Valley Garden Center on 15th Ave south of Encanto Park. They have a lovely outdoor garden, I think you could do the wedding out there. It would not work for a really large group.

Desert Botanical Garden might also work. They have really nice patio area and banquet rooms for the receptions afterwards, too. I went there for a reception only, but noticed that others had weddings scheduled there.

I'll keep my thinking cap on. I feel like I am forgetting something obvious.

We are looking at having around 75 guests. Those are some great ideas.

You might try contacting some Realtors. Some wonderful homes are now up for sale. Perhaps a Realtor for high-end properties would know of a home that the owner might rent out for a wedding. My girlfriend just rented her home (which is for sale) on the Lake at Tempe for an event. I would suppose it depends on how wild your wedding guests might get...

Try Val Vista Lakes www.valvistalakes.org

They have an outside grassy oval on the lake, and overlooking a mountain waterfall.

Disclousre: I live in Val Vista Lakes.

A few years back I DJ'd a wedding at "The Point" Resort (At South Mountain)
The wedding court had the wedding done outside, and then everyone was escorted to the inside for the reception.

We got married in a small place in Carefree. There's a husband and wife who are both ministers and they own a Spanish style house that's off of Dynamite Rd that they use for weddings. It's secluded enough to feel private, but not far off the 101.

Here's their website: Carefree Wedding Packages - Cave Creek and Carefree Arizona Weddings & Chapel (http://arizonaweddingpackages.com/The_Carefree.php - broken link)
