I know Amazon has five fulfillment centers (PHX3, PHX5, PHX6, PHX7, and TUS1) in the Valley plus its Sortation Center (PHX8), however, the Inland Empire has a lot more and the Valley feeds a lot off that area for Amazon orders. PHX3, the oldest fulfillment center in the Valley, was recently reconfigured to handle apparel and footwear (it was previously large sortable). PHX6 is probably where most of my locally stocked items ship out of, and it primarily handles small and large sortable items. PHX5 (Goodyear) and PHX7 primarily stock non-sortable items (either oversize items or items with irregular dimensions). TUS1 (which despite its code is not in Tucson but is in Phoenix) is the newest fulfillment center and it primarily stocks small sortable items (although I have yet to get any shipments from there).

In the Inland Empire, there are three fulfillment centers in San Bernardino (ONT2, SNA7, and SNA8), two in Eastvale (SNA6 and SNA9), one in Moreno Valley (ONT6), one in Redlands (ONT9), and one in Rialto (SNA4). Most of these fulfillment centers handle small sortable items (with ONT6 also handling apparel), except for ONT9 and SNA4 which handle non-sortable.

You're only talking about Amazon though. We have a lot more DC's and warehouses than just them

At least for Amazon the Valley feeds a lot off other areas since the local fulfillment centers don't stock enough to serve the entire area. I think the fulfillment center that the Valley feeds most off of outside the local fulfillment centers is ONT6 in Moreno Valley. The PHX8 Sortation Center also has direct ground links with ONT2, ONT9, SNA4, SNA6, and SNA7. For SNA8 and SNA9, they make a stop in SNA7 and SNA6 first, respectively, before heading to PHX8 to be sent either to an Amazon Logistics Delivery Station or to a local Post Office for last mile delivery.

It would be great if we could discuss more about obtaining corporate HQs of large reputable companies like Amazon, Apple, etc., and less about fulfillment centers, warehouses, and the like. This is one of the problems with the Phoenix area: it's a large metro area where too many small thinkers seem to live.

No company is going to relocate or create high paying jobs in a state with a bottom of the barrel public school system. Until the legislature takes education seriously, look for more distribution and call centers. This state seems obsessed with shooting itself in the foot.

As a local truck driver, all those distribution centers keep me employed, so I personally wouldn't change that....
