I am flying out on the 24th to take a look around and staying until the 26th. I am landing 10:25am PHX time. I guess there is a car show at the Pavilion on the 25th. I was talking to one of the Euro Car groups on facebook. Anyways, pretty pumped to check out the area.

The Pavilions car show is ok. Lots of cars attend that just shouldn't be there at all, so don't be disappointed. Most of the cars are trash. The muscle car crowd clears out early, so get there around 4 PM or so if you want to see the show at its height, or else you'll get stuck seeing clapped out Miatas and Civics rolling in around 8 PM.

If you wanna see ALL walks of life in Phoenix, drive the entire road of Camelback. The changes are crazy

I live where a mile north is the biltmore and things and a mile south it gets junky and a mile east is OK but not great, a mile west is more midtown/downtown feel. You can really just tell by feel and look

Hey BlackS3! I briefly lived in Austin before moving back to Phoenix. Let us know when you get here and we'll be happy to guide you as best we can.

Nice, the car show is a pretty good time and your right by the casino to stop in there afterwards. Don't be too deterred by Cats, I've gone at 6-7pm and had a good time and still see plenty of muscle cars. It opens at 4pm so I wouldn't worry about getting there right at 4 but don't show up at 8 or 9 either as things will be closing out.

I go to the car shows and car meets in Pittsburgh. I know what you mean. It's all good as long as there are decent builds I enjoy any car. haha

I see. I plan on driving around a little since I'll have a rental car.

Jazz, thanks ! I lived in Austin from 2014-2015. At the time, I had a full bolt on 2012 6speed GTI with the k04 turbo swap. Now, I have a full bolt on 2016 black S3 haha. I ran around with the Austin Euro Gruppe. I moved back to Pittsburgh in June 2015. I always wanted to explore Phoenix. I have been thinking of moving out for awhile.

All good haha. I do like casinos. More walking around and people watching than gambling. I'll dabble in slots with a few bucks, but as far as sitting down to play poker or something I lose interest quickly.

I also found out there is drifting from 4am-12pm at wild horse pass. I will probably check that out around 8am.

I am staying in Old Town so I feel like most of this is 20-30 minutes North and South of where I'll be.

I appreciate all your responses!

Hey all,

Just following up. My 2 days were great! I went to the car meets Saturday (8/25). Met some awesome people. Friday the 24th I landed at 1025AM, got to the hotel and started driving around I looked at some apartments and met up with a family friend. Also, looked around a lot in between the car events. I am definitely considering moving next year around this time I just want to keep my options open around here though have some loose ends to tie up. I plan on coming back out in the spring when things start to heat up and the prices on flights and hotels drop.
