I am hoping to move to Phoenix by late fall.

I am sick of apartments.

Any advice or suggestions for renting a house, or half a house?

Cost?

My job will be at 4425 E Cotton Center Blvd, so I would try to find something
within a reasonable driving distance, but of course in a decent neighborhood.

There is an excess of empty houses out here. It should be very easy to find a nice 3B/2Bath house for around $800/m, especially if you are looking in any of the newer areas (<10 years old).

Cotton Center looks like it is just south of the airport. This area would be mostly apartments/condos, but if you head East about 10-15 miles towards Tempe/Mesa, you should be able to find a nice house.

What's the best way to find rental homes? Do you have some names of large property management companies or realtors that do property management?

I look on rentals.com but i'm not sure if i'd want to rent from someone like that. I'd prefer to rent from a Property managment company because the chance you'll get dicked around by the owner is non existant.

You can also try the rental section on realtor.com (REALTOR.com: Home and Real Estate Search - Advanced Search). I think this site includes properties listed by management companies also.

NARPM at NARPM : National Association of Residential Property Managers is the national association for property managers. I would look there.
