Great! Thank you, yukon! This really helps with the decision-making process, hearing directly from others about their experiences (which is why this forum is a goldmine). It's good to have the Marriott Townplace Suites as a possibility. Many thanks!

I found a number of Scottsdale fully-furnished short-term rental houses and condos in a recent Zillow search. Many of these are close to the golf courses and cater to visitors coming into town for the tournaments.
fluffythewondercat,

Thank you! That's where I first started looking, on Zillow (and also realtor.com), however the one realtor I contacted said she didn't think the 3-month house rental would suit our needs (looked perfect to me though) so I wonder if some realtors are a bit wary of out-of-staters or something. Or maybe it was something else. But at any rate, it's good to know there actually are properties listed there that could work for us.

Thanks a million for the suggestions!

Ah. Sorry. VRBO's the one that quotes you a per night charge with a potentially long list of add-on charges. I just looked at a listing that "sleeps 4" but if your party is 4 they add a fee for "additional people".

I had to go look - the VRBO fees are ridiculous on some listings! Ouch! They're also not as clearly placed on the listing as AirBnB. When I look on AirBnB, I know right then what the rate is and any additional fees there might be.

Actually, summer, while hot, is the cheapest time to visit.
