Greetings!

My family and I are planning a visit to Scottsdale this summer and we'd actually like to rent a place for 1 or 2 months. We are hoping to relocate to Scottsdale area from the East Coast, however many on the forum seem to suggest visiting in the summer first, which is our plan. During our extended summer vacation I will also look into schools and also arrange job interviews if possible.

I have been searching endlessly on the internet, however thought I should post here in case anyone has a recommendation of either a realtor or a company that offers quality yet affordable extended stay rentals.

I suppose we could just stay in a hotel, since maybe the rates are a bit less during the summer?

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

You will have no problem finding a rental in the summer months. Have you looked at Airbnb? I’d start there.

Keep in mind that you will be here at the absolute worst time of year. Hopefully you don’t get scared away

Thank you! We've never tried Airbnb, however I've heard good things. OK, so I will start there. Many thanks, it's much appreciated.

LOL! I can't wait to see if we can handle it. We've been preparing ourselves, and I'm determined to not complain. As long as there is A/C in our accommodations and rental car, I'm sure we'll be fine. But it's good to keep in mind, so thank you for the reminder.

If nothing more, it will give you an idea of availability and pricing. You can enter your dates and see all the places available during your stay. Personally, I’d rent a house with a pool to get a real feel for summer life here. I’d bet that you’ll find some that are quite affordable.

Another vote here for AirBnB. Another option would be any of the Marriott Townplace Suites properties. I've stayed in the 2 bedroom units before (in other cities) and they're nice. Marriott will probably be more expensive than AirBnB though. You could also look at VRBO.

Airbnb and VRBO can get expensive with hidden service fees.

I found a number of Scottsdale fully-furnished short-term rental houses and condos in a recent Zillow search. Many of these are close to the golf courses and cater to visitors coming into town for the tournaments.

AirBnB fees aren't hidden. They're on the page under the rate. Usually the owner will have a cleaning fee and the other fee is the AirBnB service charge. I've never paid more than what was shown. I have no idea how VRBO does it.

I took a look and there are some amazing properties -- with pools, as you suggest and that would be ideal. Thanks, DetroitN8V!
