It's peak outdoor watering this time of year. I'm anticipating a whopper water bill. For me that's around $200 for one month (but it includes sewer and garbage, City of Phx.) I have grass front and back, shade trees, no flood irrigation, and I never purposely "waste" water. Well, some would argue that growing grass is deliberately wasteful, but I disagree with that. My water bill during the winter goes low (I never put in a winter lawn.)

How does my highest-year monthly water bill compare to yours? Just curious.

$91 at a stupid apartment. Includes water, sewer, trash, property taxes and a "processing fee". I can only imagine how much it is for units with more than one tenant.

This is for a family of four, lawn in the back yard, drip irrigation in front, and an above ground pool. We've paid as much as $180/mo in the summer with Epcor. Nothing included in the bill but water and associated fees...our trash and sewer are billed separately (trash in the HOA and $28 for sewer). The bill is never lower than $60 in the winter.

The pool isn't much of a water user. The grass is the big user if we keep it green-ish

I've heard that your meter size can have a large effect on your bill. The base charge for a 1" meter (with Epcor) is much higher than the base charge for a 3/4" meter. I have the smaller meter and haven't looked into it.

$116, 3 adults and 1 toddler. No grass, no backyard plants on a drip, and no pool. Doesn't include trash, that is $59 quarterly. Epcor sucks.

How many gallons used would be more useful. No?

It was a flat $67 and some change until a few months ago. Now it's a consistent and flat $70 and some change. Year-round. I wonder if the landlord or some previous tenant put it on one of those yearly average plans? Because we sure didn't. It's nice to have a known and predictable figure each month though.

Wow...I don't think we've ever paid over $90 (water, trash, sewage) in Chandler except when we had to drain/fill the pool. 1/3 of an acre, backyard is mostly grass, citrus trees and bushes. Even when filling the pool the bill only went up ~$40.

Cities usually measure water consumption in CCFs or hundred cubic feet. One CCF is equivalent to 748 gallons. That should be on the water bill.
