Lived in south Tempe for 7 years and north for about 3 now. The amount of water and power outages is unbelievable. It’s not even like this back in the frozen tundra. Pretty ridiculous.

Is it like this all over the valley?

Man, that sucks. No, it's not like that everywhere. We got hammered hard during a few of the storms, to the point that some in the neighborhood suffered roof damage. We never lost power nor water. Why would the water service go out? I've never heard of that.

I've lived in south Tempe in two different locations for all but two years since 1973, and I can't remember the last time the power went out. Water out? NEVER. The power is an SRP or APS issue, the water is city, so you can't lump the two together. Can't explain your problem. And no, I'm sure it's not the case all over the Valley. Have you asked the appropriate power company or the city about these problems?

I've had 1 power outage, scheduled repairs, in the last 5-10 years, nothing at all in the last 3. Been in the NW valley the whole time.

Maybe the pumps need power? I honestly don't know how water delivery works.

The old place in s Tempe never lost water but power outages were practically every storm.

The new place power goes out a LOT. Got a letter of apology from SRP about how the replaced some transformers or something but it still goes out during heavy storms.

Two water mains (?) blew a couple weeks ago in our neighborhood. No water for a whole day. Now today again. It’s like it started at Scottsdale rd and is working it’s way back through our neighborhood every 50 yards or so one at s time.

I don’t know, I mean I’m from near tornado alley so to me these aren’t even storms as far as the power outages.

There'll be more power outs in neighborhoods with above-ground lines on poles... mostly older neighborhoods I'd think.

Do you have lot of wooden poles overhead wiring? I used to live in SRP area with lot of wooden poles every monsoon lose power for 1-3 days. I had already priced out a generator but we moved to APS area all underground in the 14 years I have been here longest outage was a 4 hours.

This monsoon seasons has caused A LOT of damage, this isn't normal. Ive lost power twice at work, once at home due to storms this year. Normally power doesn't go out, but these microbursts and high winds have wreaked havoc.

I've never had or heard of the water going out.

I've lived in Goodyear for 11 years and the power went out here for 4 hours once when a car took out a transformer on my street. That is the only time.
