That house I was talking about earlier, had an asking price of 1.2 million last year. So it has come down some, but really, these neighborhoods haven't lost value like some areas of the Valley. 1.2 million was the price it was valued at in 2005, at the peak of the home prices here in Phoenix. A house on the same street on the corner of 3rd ave and Portland, sold for 1.1 million, and the house across from it sold for 1.2 million, both sold in July.

well either way - still totally out of my price range!!! We are looking at around 250k. Are there any neighborhoods that have greenery in them that are nice parts of town (ie safe)? I like the new houses in the burbs....but it looks so dry and barren....i like the feel of the greener parts

Expensive in these neighborhoods downtown are homes that are not less than $500,000. The picture of the street with the palm trees is Portland in the Roosevelt Historic Neighborhood. There is currently a house on sale there, I believe it is around 3000 sq. ft and the listing price is $1,099,000. The apartment homes in the picture are the Roosevelt Square apartments and run between $770 for a studio and $2100 for a two bedroom. Shop around, however, some deals in renovated, privately owned historic buildings can be a little less expensive, but not by much.
Why waste all that time, energy and money...Can I just come move and live with you for free?

Ask me how?

Water from your faucet can be better from water mart by installing a good filtration system. You have heard of reverse osmosis. But there are literally hundreds of products in the market.

Which one should you pick?

There are a few criteria you can look at:

1. Service
2. Installation Method
3. Performance
4. Ultraviolet Sterilizer
5. Capacity
6. Product Appearance
7. Cost

Yes, it is a home downtown, in the Roosevelt neighborhood. No acreage, just a historic home. Oh, good news for a persepective buyer, the house is now selling for $945,000 instead of $1,000,999. The 2005 price was 1.1 million, I was thinking and looking at the house on the other block when I stated it was 1.2 million in 2005. Here is the link and a photo of the house:

LOL, you sound just like my brother! Yeah, there are tons of neighborhoods with houses like this in Phoenix, most around the central area: Willo, Encanto-Palmcroft (which is even MORE expensive than this house and those in Roosevelt), F.Q. Story, Brentwood, Idylwilde Park, East Evergreen, etc.

It's really a bad situation, lots of owners there are up in arms with the Summit's developer. Too bad.

Too bad that most of the condo tower is now rentals! Sucks to have bought a place there just to be living near people who pay $500 less a month to rent the same condo!
