The condo tower is 73% owner occupied. Some condos are rented by the owner. I'd rather pay more and own the property, then pay rent for someone else's mortgage payment and eventual equity in the future.

That is definitely the area I am hoping to move to. I hope to find somone else M, 22 - 28 recent college grad looking to move downtown as well!

If you're in the same boat def send me a message!

I decided to snap a few shots of what in my opinion is the best residential pocket downtown.
I've been here over five years and don't know where "downtown" is, even though I work on Central Ave. IOW, there is no downtown here. There is just suburb after suburb with a few high rises spinkled here and there.

That explains a lot. Why rely on actual first-hand knowledge and photos like HX Guy when instead you can re-hash tired cliches like "suburb after suburb"? Someone's having a grumpy Thanksgiving.

What constitutes a "downtown" to you? Why doesn't downtown Phoenix count as a downtown?

Face it: you and I actually like the Phx area overall----------unlike some other posters who would be better off living elsewhere.

And I make no bones about the fact that if $$$ were no object and I were to stay in Arizona the rest of my life----------it would probably be somewhere along the E Indian School corridor Not 'downtown' per se; but, to someone from outside of the central Phx area...........close enough.

Because I am accustomed to real downtowns?

No, I just live here, thank you very much. Hey, years ago I quit my job in a city with a REAL downtown. Decided to move to Phoenix. Took my pillow on a 7 a.m. flight. Imagine my horror when I flew over and said..."there are two downtowns here." I can't live here! And that was MANY years ago.

Sorry, you just have to deal with reality. Perhaps you've never lived in a REAL city. This is nothing other than suburb upon suburb.

Reality? We live here and are reasonably happy about it............the cold reality is that you dislike the Phx area.

Hell: reading between the lines; my disdain towards Wash DC is less (a lot of DC's problems in my eyes are due to its foul weather).
