Finally made it to Mekong Market, and was so disappointed. Nice, spacious place, but no roast meats, and no bakery, either.

There's a bakery down the hall from the supermarket and roast meats hang from hooks in the dim sum restaurant. If you limited your exploration to the Mekong Market, you missed much of what is available at Mekong Plaza, not to mention the rest of the Mesa Asian Business District.

Well, I was on foot, which does tend to limit one's range.

When I asked disappointedly if they didn't have a bakery, I was told that there was a bakery inside the mall but it was closed.

If you go back, there are two places to try:

1) AA Ozzy Bakery -- Inside Mekong Plaza next to Thai Spices restaurant

2) Paris Baguette -- Inside H Mart in the shopping center right across the street

AA Ozzy is probably the one that was closed

At the Paris Baguette, are you talking about bahn mi, or what?

No, it's a French boulangerie and a patisserie with a Korean spin: baguettes, croissants, cakes, etc.

I've run across the name, but as a restaurant. Do they sell roast meats by the pound, too?

Not that I am aware of.

I have spent the last three years eating myself up and down Dobson Rd. There are that many great restaurants im that stretch of Mesa.

And more keep opening. I can't keep up, and that's a good problem to have.
