What are the job opportunities in tech like in Phoenix compared to Atlanta? What about in education (teaching high school)?
How do taxes compare and quality of life? Has anyone here made the move from the Atlanta metro area to the Phoenix area?

i think job quality in atlanta overall is better- more big corporations and tech jobs-u can go to indeed.com or dice.com and just compare job listings in the 2 cities (a lot people move to AZ for lifestyle reasons or to retire although the tech scene is starting to improve in Phoenix)- a lot of education jobs are in Phoenix-there is a shortage of teachers in AZ (pay tends to lower for teachers than other states)

I think there's a city vs city thread on here you can ask that question and get more of an "unbiased" answer.

I am not the most reliable source since I think Phoenix's job market superior to my old city. I had more opportunities in Phoenix than I did in my previous city. However, on indeed.com, they consider Phoenix's job market to be "weak'' while they ranked ATL's job market as "strong"

Phoenix's job opportunities are better than some "nearby" large cities, such as San Diego & Las Vegas ... however, San Diego is mostly overshadowed by L.A., and Vegas is known more for entertainment than it is for jobs. Phoenix pretty much stands alone in this game, being that no other large city or metro region is overshadowing us or directly competing with us. So with that said, Phoenix's job market is definitely on the weak side when compared with other large metros in our population range. To those who moved here from small or mid sized areas, the job market might seem very strong.
