Hi all, I am in the interview process for a job in Phoenix located near the Biltmore Fashion park. Doing research in case I get an offer and have to move quickly...what areas would be the best place to rent a home initially and then buy in, that would have the easiest commute? My max budget to rent would be about $1500 and for purchase, no more than $250K. Was looking at Glendale, Peoria areas. I currently drive 35 miles one way to work and do not want to have to do that again. Have been to AZ previously but checked out the east valley and that area seems too far of a drive. Single female so looking for safe area. Thanks!

The Biltmore is a great area. No need to live elsewhere. I’m sure you can find a condo within budget. Search 85016.

For rentals check out CITI ON CAMELBACK or BILTMORE PROMENADE.

Purchasing will be a bit trickier in the $250K range. You should be able to find a condo, but a Single Family will likely be a fixer-upper. You can look further north or south, but try and stay of the east side. The commute from Glendale or Peoria will be less than desirable.

Thanks for the answers. It appears in order to purchase a newer single family home in a desirable area the commute will be bad. Not sure I will want the job then. I'm kinda done with bad commutes.

$250k won’t get you much in a single family home anywhere too desireable here. A condo near your job could be found though, although even then the budget will be limiting.

Definitely look in the Camelback East area. It's generally middle class, and not too pricey. The best thing is that you'll be close to Biltmore Fashion Park, and won't have to endure a long commute with heavy traffic. The 24th Street/Camelback area does tend to be on the expensive side, but there are some older homes, condos, and apartments nearby which would be more in your price range.

Check out the area around Camelback and 16th St. It's only a mile or so from Biltmore Fashion Park. Escape, Crescent, and Peak 16 are all nice complexes that have units within your price range. I moved to the area from out of state last year, so feel free to PM me if you have any questions. :-)

You could also look up in the north central to north Phoenix area. The commute wouldn't be too bad from those areas
