I was wondering, has anyone here been to Macy's new Backstage off-price concept on the third floor of the Macy's store at Superstition Springs Mall yet? I haven't been there yet, but I would like to hear your experiences. I heard they carry some brands that a normal Macy's doesn't carry. It looks like they want to increase traffic; the last few times I was as Superstition Springs Mall it seemed like the JCPenney was busier than the Macy's (which I think is unusual for most malls).

Just as an update, I was there today, and here are my impressions:
  • It seemed to be a bit more organized than a Ross.
  • As confirmed by Macy's, there are brands that are not sold by normal Macy's stores, including some brands that are no longer carried by Macy's. One such brand is IZOD. I saw a few men's Nautica shirts as well, which I haven't seen locally at a Macy's in a while either even though they are still available on Macys.com.
  • The whole store (including Backstage) seemed to be a bit quiet in comparison with JCPenney which was packed today (which again is atypical for most malls). It doesn't seem like the Backstage is drawing in traffic. It looks like JCPenney is still king at Superstition Springs.
