I hope that we return to the weather pattern we had in late June and the one that messed up the monsoon, with storms moving through. I would like to see a wet fall and winter followed by a really good wildflower season. It has been forever since we had a great one.

huh? We had an amazing wildflower season this year?

I've lived in the Phoenix metro for 38 years and this is has been the coolest summer that I can remember. My wife is an AZ native and she said the same thing.

It actually wasn't. We had our 6th hottest July ever and 2nd hottest August ever this year and had 29 days with highs 110°+, which is top 4 for days 110°+ in a year

There were some, maybe more that usual but it was nothing amazing. Mostly a better show of the mallows and brittlebush that always blooms. When much of South Mountain looks bright yellow and orange from all the California poppies, you will see an amazing season.

And this was mainly because of the lack of monsoonal flow this year.

It was definitely much cooler here in SW Montana. We didn't even make it to October before the first snow of the season, and it's snowed 3x since. It was also a much cooler and wetter spring. Last winter in Yuma was the coldest any can recall. Just isolated aberrations in the data no doubt

I have never been to the Phoenix Area, but I live in SoCal (LA area) and the weather patterns are similar to here. Since I live in the LA area, you can still feel the weather patterns as far as in the desert areas here. In LA Sept 2019, it was cooler than usual (It's the first time noticing it all my life), and it felt like fall. So yes, it was cooler, no I don't live in Phoenix, but the weather is similar due to the location.

@2008user
I agree, Phoenix and LA are similar but Phoenix has hotter summers.
The heat doesn't bother me much but LA has awesome summers more fit for being outdoors.
I wouldn't mind living in LA if it wasn't so crowded, and the fires and earthquakes don't sound too pleasing either.
